Activity Description and Purpose
Dr Agronin is a leading expert on psychiatric manifestations of Parkinson’s disease. In this podcast, he talks about diagnostic strategies, behavioral measures, and the pharmacologic treatment of Parkinson’s disease psychosis. Along the way, he shares insights from his decades in clinical practice and practical guidelines for caregivers facing this challenging disease. The desired results of this activity are for psychiatric clinicians to understand the treatments available and develop evidence-based treatment plans for complex patients who suffer from psychosis, dementia, depression, apathy, and/or anxiety while maintaining the safety and quality of life of patients
Target Audience
This educational activity is intended for psychiatric clinicians, including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses, caring for patients with Parkinson’s disease.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, participants will be better able to:
- Describe the use of behavioral management strategies to manage neuropsychiatric aspects of Parkinson’s disease
- Develop evidence-based treatment strategies for patients with Parkinson’s disease and comorbid neuropsychiatric conditions (eg, Parkinson’s disease psychosis, Parkinson’s disease dementia, depression, anxiety, and agitation)
