Target Audience
This educational activity is intended for dietitians, pharmacists, nurses, and physicians engaged in the care of adult and pediatric/neonatal patients requiring parenteral nutrition.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, participants will be better able to:
- Describe the dosing of various lipid injectable emulsions to prevent essential fatty acid deficiency in adult and pediatric patients
- Demonstrate appropriate use of lipid injectable emulsions in hospital and home adult patients
- Demonstrate appropriate use of lipid injectable emulsions in pediatric/neonatal patients at risk for intestinal failure–associated liver disease
