Activity Description and Purpose
This educational activity is intended to help psychiatric clinicians treat complex patients. Experts provide guidance through cases and discussion that gives a systematic approach to managing patients with Parkinson’s disease and comorbid conditions, such as dementia, anxiety, psychosis, depression, and anxiety. The desired results of this activity are for psychiatric clinicians to understand the treatments available and develop evidence-based treatment plans for complex patients while maintaining the safety and quality of life of patients.
Target Audience
This educational activity is intended for psychiatric clinicians, including physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurses, caring for patients with Parkinson’s disease.
Learning Objectives
After completing this activity, participants will be better able to:
- Describe the use of behavioral management strategies to manage neuropsychiatric aspects of Parkinson’s disease
- Develop evidence-based treatment strategies for patients with Parkinson’s disease and comorbid neuropsychiatric conditions (eg, Parkinson’s disease psychosis, Parkinson’s disease dementia, depression, anxiety, and agitation)
